New TV show Vantage Point, delves into the lives behind the leaders

Motivational speaker, TV host and philanthropist Masingita Masunga has now added the title of a TV producer to her already impressive CV – she’s taken on the challenge of producing her own reality/talk show, Vantage Point.

Vantage Point, which premieres at 18.00 on 04 March 2020 on DStv channel 157 (Moja Love), will focus on South African leaders and day-to-day leadership functions in a light-hearted manner to find out what our leaders do when they take off their capes at night. It will take the audience on an inspirational journey to help them understand leadership and leaders, and see these people in a more humane light.

“It aims to give hope to the nation and also help individuals find restoration, vision and purpose,” says Masunga.

The show will feature high-profile guests – including leaders of society, achievers and survivors – examining their life journey and how it has helped them become the leaders they are. The impressive lineup includes former president Kgalema Motlanthe, Gauteng Education MEC Panyaza Lesufi and former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela.

In the first episode, Masunga spends a day with South Africa’s current Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane.

“I want people to see leaders in a different light and to separate the job title from the person. South Africans need to start seeing and understanding that our leaders have a life outside of Parliament or their daily jobs, and essentially see them for who they are and not what they do,” says Masunga.

“It was so interesting to be with Busi at a nail salon just doing our nails and chatting. I mean, she didn’t even talk to me about the ongoing cases or state capture.”

Each episode will feature Masunga interviewing and interacting with a leader while going about daily activities, enjoying hobbies or doing interesting things.
