Ever looked at your bank statement and wondered where your common sense goes when you make these transactions? A few days ago, my bank sent me my statement and if my name wasn’t written on it, I was going to flag and send it back. I was truly disappointed.
It was at that moment when it hit me.
How many of us have monthly/quarterly/yearly budgets? Do we plan our finances before making purchases or do we splurge and if kushuba kuyashuba? Having clear and realistic financial independence takes honesty and consistency.
In this edition, we speak about everything personal and business finance. Do you have a budget? Do you have a retirement plan? Is your business generating enough profit or are you drowning in personal debts trying to keep it afloat? All these factors need you to critically evaluate your lifestyle and financial decisions.
You could find that sometimes it’s not that your business is failing because you aren’t getting customers, it’s because you had no realistic financial plan and execution strategy which made you gather unnecessary expenses that are way above your business’ affordability. Do you really need to rent and pay office space if you are able to work from home? That P.A you want to hire; do you really need one or you’re feeling overwhelmed because of your lack of time management?
It’s important to consult with a financial adviser to avoid making financial decisions based on fear.
Let’s start making better decisions with our pockets starting from this quarter.
